Living in spacious rooms with views and private baths, residents receive personalized care from compassionate and experienced professionals so that they can maintain an active lifestyle.
In addtion to the magnificent view from the historic bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River, the landscaping features a memory garden and pond with water plants and fish, flower beds and trees— all adding up to an exceptionally beautiful environment.Accommodations
All the residents’ rooms include individually controlled heating and air conditioning, window treatments and wall-to-wall carpeting.

Elevators are conveniently located near residents’ rooms on each floor. Residents may bring furniture and accessories to personalize their new living area and decorate their rooms to their own taste and style.

- Standard room
- Intermediate Room or
- Corner room
Dining With A View
Dining at the Altenheim is everyone’s favorite part of the day. The spacious, elegant dining room is surrounded by window walls giving every table a view from the historic bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River. Residents and guests enjoy a perfect view of nature at every season.
Three delightful meals are served here every day. Residents can choose from a menu of delicious entrees, side dishes and desserts. Our professional wait staff provides unhurried, exceptional service.
Engaging Activities
Altenheim residents are actively involved in a myriad of activities designed to promote social interaction and as active a lifestyle as possible.
You'll find that you or your loved one’s day is filled with fun games and activities, trips, and learning opportunities. Activities at the Altenheim are arranged and supervised by a full-time Activities Director who works with the residents to determine what activities they'd like to participate in. The Activities Schedule overlaps from one event to the next to allow residents the option of participating in different activities. Monthly themes incorporate a variety of activities and seasonal events.

Our activity agenda provides for both staff-run activities and various outings. Many of our residents organize card games and discussion groups of their own to further enhance their quality of life.
